Ive got a pair of look 4x4 pedals, which are basically stainless steel spindle eggbeaters with look branding. They've survived all sorts of abuse and still run smooth. If you ask me the MXR eggbeaters were a mistake by crank bros, who were probably trying to compete with Shimanos better value MTB pedals. They have put a question mark beside an otherwise quality brand.
