this will be tensioned to the max cos that's the only way it will work. if it's good enough for user to put weight on it to go forwards, dont you think it'll be good enough to go backwards (stopping/skidding whilst fixed)?
the advantage of this is that it would be a smoother drive cos it doesnt have that metal to metal feel. low in weight. maintenance/wear and tear would be low.
