i'm not going on this ride because i basically dont know shit about the politics of tibet/china, and after discussing with some chinese friends of mine, i'm still no clearer. on the critical mass list, someone also pointed out this article: http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4111 - i found it a good read which expressed at least some of my thoughts (about knowing nothing!) although i may not agree or believe all of it. the last paragraph, though, is good:

this article is littered with factual inaccuracies, easily refuted. It's conclusions are applied with Friedman-like, neo-conservative logic.
