    Is this "blanket deal" the reason I always hear bigish bands on BBC TV shows that shouldn't be able to afford the royalties?

    Yeah, I am pretty sure the BBC just pay a set amount per year to PRS and then PRS divides this up (according to some system of points) amongst its members, so the BBC just use whatever they want, a U2 song will cost no more than some tiny indie/dance label artist.

    Just found an even smaller payment than the 2p for 'what not to wear' - one pence (!!!) for a tune I wrote that was played on 'Honest' on ITV1 Channel Islands Non-Primtime.

    1p !!! And that was for 52 seconds of music !!! :D

    My retirement has been put off until I am 215.
