ok, i know you guys seem to know what your talking about. however i w ent to BLB but they were closed, dont open till ten, slackers. so i went to halford in mile end.
the thing im looking for is apparently an 'inveerse' shim and they have them at halford.s and normalyl use them for car parts. i told the the guy in the bike section what you told me but he told me it was fine to use on a bicycle.
it comes in 2 parts and is like this:

is there any way i cna join the two parts together arounfd the seattube so that the post and tube look clean? i was thinking ofa metal glue or resin then spray it. would this work? if not its back to the drwing board.
