i'd like to keep the 18 on the rear as it's a freewheel... i'll get measuring this weekend and work it all out.
52 18 is fine when i'm going, but starting off requires a big push, and then hill starts. well. it's sore.
i'll try and make drinks on monday and peoples can offer advice there and then. plus i need a reason to get out of work and meet new people. innit.
its daft running that ratio as a freewheel,
unless you pump for max speed down hills.
But I take it you freewheel,
and therefore your gear should help you get UP the hill.
Run lower, even people fixed run waaay lower, like the chap above.
I can bareley balance on freewheel bike with high gearage, it feels so odd having immense resistance trying to nudge foward, yet you roll back withe zero.
