  • I did it last weekend and it was pretty warm (and I'm pretty large) so staying hydrated was a biggie. Was 100% longer ride than anything I've done before.

    Can recommend 'Nuun' electrolyte tablets. Drop one in 500ml of water and you got a cheap sugar free sports drink. £5 for tube of 12. I got through 5 bottles @ one an hour-ish and was cramp free and feeling good on train home.

    Also grabbed some Clif energy bars and kept nibbling regularly, your going to burn 3-4000 calories so keep scarfing all the way.
