This is a really dangerous ride, particularly if you leave later. The majority of the riders have never ridden in a group and have done very little training. As such, there's a huge amount of spills.
I stumbled across it last year c.10.30am in Surrey and rode with it for five-10 minutes and saw two crashes cos people were unable to control their bikes when riding with others. Commuters trying to race whilst kids struggled to keep up with parents and stay in a straight line. Bike hell.
I rode off ASAP cos I feared for my life. I'd avoid unless leaving early with the whippets.
