8:30am = a lot of cyclists in the way. What gear are you riding?
I did this yesterday (but only from the M25) for the first time, I'd describe it as rolling with just Turners Hill (short really) and Ditchling to have to worry about. Having never seen the beacon until yesterday I got to within 250yds from the top on 47x18, and not exactly fit either. Kinda pissed me off, but I gave it my best so should be happy.
