I thought of the same thing a while back but laziness got the better of me.
You need to strip them apart, remove everything you don't want white - you also need to tell the powdecoaters to mask (using rubber bungs) the exposed inners.
Then when you get it back you will need to open out the spoke holes when you get it back using something like a square edged bradle.
Also, ask for the white powdercoat that doesn't fill in detail so much (there are a few different 'grades' of white)
