Bad luck on the forks. So was it the actual baze that failed or the fork leg?
Surly any reasonable quality road frame with horizontal dropouts? I only say road as I get that impression from you. Plus I wouldn't think that 18 miles each way every day on super tight geometry would be that great, but you might like it.
