But this entire page and everything on it, all of the other images, all of the text, all of the javascript and css... all added together, weigh 197KB.
Your one image was 8 times larger than everything else on this page combined.
Over a third of people who visit the site still have dial-up connection speeds of around 44kbps.
Without your image, this page takes them 30 seconds to download and view. With your image it takes closer to 5 minutes.
All I'm saying is that you can show consideration to other forum users by not directly embedding images above 200KB.
Cable, DSL and LAN connections may be all that you experience (me too for the most part), but while a lot of people still have slow connections, let's not make it worse for them.
And they're unlikely to go away, not all slow connections are dial-up, that's just the equivalent speed. It's most likely that they're using iPhones, other mobiles, wireless connections, etc.
