  • Try standing with the wheel on a table. Once you've got as much of the tyre on as possible (start at the valve, as it's nearly impossible doing it last I find) stand with the bit of tyre that isn't on at the top of the wheel. Then use your body weight to lever the tyre on by almost rolling it over with your palms.

    Really push down and the wheel shouldn't slip because of the grip of the table. It's what I tend to do when I'm fighting with a fresh pair of conti gatorskins.

    Just had a thought. I remember reading online that some people warm bar tape on a radiator to make it more stretchy, prior to applying it the bars. Perhaps warm up the tyre to make it a bit more malleable?

    ok, I did break 1 lever earlier, I only have 2 left, hope they don't break

    I don't bother with them when putting on. No matter what way I tried it just doesn't work.
