As Eyebrows correctly says you need both wheels to be freewheels under BTA rules and at London ( and Blenhiem and at all BTA sanctioned races ) they will have marshalls inspecting the bikes at registration and also have BTA referees on the course checking .You can hire road bikes at www.triandrun.com £60 a week
