oxford st's got a rush hour? the no of peds there's pretty constant chris. relentless. it's only quiet before 0800 and after 2300
guestimate, i dont really know how fast i go as i dont have a comp on my fixed gear (who does?). but of course the more peds there are the more likely ill slow down. to me, i like to keep my speed up, be as close to general traffic speed as possible. less diff speed between you and vehicles, drivers give way when you slide in (overtaking) and you beat buses.
i dont go shoulder width away from the kerb...prob at least a swinging car door's length away. but also limited by the space given to me by an adjacent vehicle. i ran into the lady right in the middle of the lane (city bound lane was about 6m wide at that point). maybe i shouldnt have shouted
