In paris they used the banks of the river, and basically if you get onto them from say Place de La Concorde (pretty much the center of paris), the next traffic light you'll encounter can be as far as Poland or Turkey...

    but roads in Paris are wider to start with. It was also calculated that the surrounding road capacity would be a grid lock trying to feed into these roads. The of course there is the shit hole that is created anywhere near any of the flyovers. Then add in the higher population of the uk compared to France as well and more problems arrive.

    What works in one city would not always work in another.
