Do you have a track pump? You don't need 110psi in tyres from a mini-pump. They're just designed to get you home.
My Blackburn fits in my jersey pocket and must do at least 100psi - it depends on how long I can be bothered pumping the tyre.
I don't know if those cartridges are recyclable in 'normal' recyc bins. Anyone?
