I tend to stop at reds. Then I find myself jumping them in petulance when I've been irritated at having to dodge swarms of people crossing on my green light (in the centre of town, people tend to think "well he'll just have to stop because we're all in the road", when they'd patently get out of the way of a car). Isn't partic. smart or clever.
I almost always start a couple of seconds before the light turns green, though, just to make sure that I'm moving at a reasonable speed once the cars get going. I don't accelerate as quickly as they after all.
