MrSmith
ads The first paragraph gives me rage:
"Stopatred is a campaign to improve the status of cycling in the eyes of the public and policy-makers alike, and to tackle the attitudes of those cyclists whose behaviour perpetuates the image of cyclists as a low-status social 'out-group' on wheels"
I don't feel particularly low status and I also think cyclists are cool as opposed to an out group.
but to the general public cyclists are not cool they are weird people who can't afford cars.
Exactly what I thought when I read it. The public do think we're mental. I was fairly surprised how many people at uni raised eyebrows at me cycling in - and these are the people which are meant to be 'educated'.
But anyways, I'm not going to sign it. I think it's a pretty lame idea. Half the people who kick up a fuss in the press about cyclists have probably never ridden a bike in a city in their lives.
