I have the Park TS-7 and do all my wheels with that. It comes with the dishing tool as well. You can use your forks with lolly sticks or pencils stuck to the brakes. Works better if you take the brake shoes off and put pencils on after that.
If you want to build the wheels then it's worth getting a truing stand. The thing I find with building wheels is that I don't always build a wheel in one sitting. I might lace it up and then then go off and do something else. Then I might come back an hour later then tension each spoke one turn and then leave it again. It's just nice to have one on the go. And it would be much easier left on a stand rather than an upturned bike. Not a problem though if you have lots of space.
You'll have no problems selling your truing stand again on ebay.
