Sounds promising. I've got a 10-year-old pair of Lake mtb shoes (with ATAC cleats) that have a stiff sole (Shimano competition sole or something), but the uppers were never super-comfy, and the laces/velcro combo causes too much kerfuffle.. and they're on the way out.
Looks like I've got to spend the cost of a new bike on new prescription riding glasses and shoes, but you can never be too kind to your eyes and feet, init :)
