  • On my frame we just tape off the chrome bits. Apparently chrome will not be affected when baking a powdercoat as it would need higher temperature. From what I know they dip the frame into a chrome bath so I suppose it will not be a 100% accurate line where it meets with the powdercoat. Therefore I would think they do the chrome first and the powdercoat afterwards. Originally there was a bit of thin tape on my frame between powdercoat and chrome section.

    Nice job the sparkly finish. But for my everyday bike it would be a bit too fancy. I am already happy if I get the colour right as I quite like that bike. Lots of happy fixed gear moments on it.
