You just said you wanted to see how fast you can spin.. you'd have to look at the computer anyway. My option was just a cheap, "aesthetically pleasing" way of doing so.
If you have a computer you can just get it to hit a max speed with a known gear - then you don't have to look. 'course you have to own a computer then..
