I went out for a ride yesterday to see if everything bike and rider was ok, thankfully all good. BUT, as I was waiting at the lights at the end of Valley Road, junction with Streatham Common Northside, a guy came haring down the hill (East to West on S'ham Cmn North, so left to right in my view), misjudged an overtake, had to try and avoid the island just after the lights, didn't, clipped the railings pretty substantially and had a nasty crash. Banged up the left side of his body (ribs, arm, cracker of a dead leg) and got a fairly nasty gash on his chin. Waited with him while the ambulance came. He never lost consciousness but was pretty pale and felt faint (although his partner reckoned that could been in part because he was fasting). Was sat up chatting with me and walked with the paramedics to the ambulance when they came. I then walked his partner home with his bike as she was pretty shaken up (probably didn't help getting a call from a random Irishman from her partner's phone).
His name is Hassan, I'd guess mid-20's to 30's and he was riding a black Bob Jackson Vigorelli which he said he had had for about 18 years (it seemed fine barring the bars having twisted, didn't crash head on). I didn't think at the time to ask if he was on here so if anybody does know someone who lives in Streatham/West Norwood area, let me know as I'd like to see how he's doing. He asked for my name and number but I'm sure he has been distracted/coming down from the adrenaline of it.
