  • Definitely not as hot, seems like it can do most of what acetylene does though,

I mean much hotter than mapp gas alone and I've been getting by with that.

I just want something more efficient and cost effective.

I think my partner will like having a safer option than acetylene in the garage to be honest, and so would I.

Maybe I'll go down this route as I already have a torch, hose, flashback arrestors, gauges etc. Just need gas.

The fact that there was an acetylene bottle in it did provide me with an extra incentive to put out the fire I started accidentally in my garage a while back. Thankfully, not being entirely foolhardy, I had made sure there were plenty of fire-extinguishers in the garage, so it wasn't hard to do.

  • Another vote for extinguishers.

  • Ahh yes, I've already set fire to a rag or two. I'm very calm in situations like that, so just stomped it the hell out.

I also do have a couple extinguishers around already.

Having a couple ratchet straps kicking around for transport in the car isn't a bad idea.

I'll be using BOC also, they have a depot not to far from me and currently have a 50% off for new customers offer, which is great.
