Our ten month old has decided he's just not that into sleep anymore, so my evenings currently consist of shifts attempting to get him down. I managed to get the old groupset off last night though in between bouts of being screamed at, just need to hammer out the BB (looks like a pressfit job rather than the BB90 bearings and circlips) and then give it a thorough clean before the recreation can begin.
Plan wise, although I've mostly spent my life on LFGSS lurking, I've come to understand some key truths, such as DBAD and the fact that it's perfectly acceptable to build a bike around a set of brakes. As such, before I'd even got the frame I saw a set of direct mount EE brakes going for an absolute steal (yay for the eBay masses abandoning rim brakes) so have them ready to put on. The only slight issue is I think the rear is an under BB design but the fitting looks identical and from googling it appears the only difference is it's a bit uglier.
I shall be going beep boop for the shifting. It turns out that eTap AXS is like hen's teeth in rim brake trim and I don't like the styling of the 11 speed stuff, Di2 is fine but I feel a little 'been there done that' with it, however Super Record EPS 11 was far cheaper second hand than I would have expected and I like learning new things during my builds, so Campag it is...
