First, when I fit the spider to the axle and tighten up the right crank, the spider is slightly loose even when torqued right up.
To the full 35Nm? Tapered splines are very sensitive to assembly force, so you are unlikely to get full clamping pressure on the spider until full torque is applied.
It feels like I need a wider BB.
Have you definitely got the standard axle rather than the offset axle?
The offset axle would require 2.5mm each side which sounds like it would solve your issues.

Thanks. I don't have a torque meter that goes that high, but it's as tight as I can get it. Thing is that if I get it any tighter it just pushes the chainrings too far in so they hit the chainstay. It needs something to hold it out on the right chainline.
I am pretty confident I don't have the offset. I actually have two axles (ordered one over Christmas and it took forever so ordered another as got sick of waiting!). What I could do is see if the other one works.
I have checked the spacer chart and it says I only need the little 0.5mm ones, which is all that I have, so can't try something else to see if it works. That was what made me think of BB width, as I held a shimano one against it and that seeemed to be a mm or two thicker.

I'm trying to fit rotor aldhu 30 cranks, with an xcadey spider power meter, but it's not working, feels like I need more spacers, but it says I should only need the tiny 0.5mm ones that came with the axle.
First, when I fit the spider to the axle and tighten up the right crank, the spider is slightly loose even when torqued right up.
Then, when I put the axle into the frame and torque the left crank up, I seem to have too much axle. I can wind out the preload disc to take up the slack but, if I do, the chainring is pulled too far inbound, it fouls the chainstay.
It feels like I need a wider BB.
Are all BSA30 BBs a standard thickness? I don't have a rotor specific one so if theirs are thicker that might fix it. I cannot find this info out on the Internet though!
Anyone know? Or anything else I am obviously doing wrong?
