Thanks everyone, glad to see the love for the colour scheme! It's even more, erm, striking in person.
The chap I picked it up from lived in a new build block in Kidbrooke, the whole area had that slightly strange feel of having everything you need for a community minus the people, although that might have been due to it being bang in the middle of a storm when I arrived. He's replaced it with the integrated rim brake Madone so is clearly a Trek fan.
Naturally I shall, in true corporate wanker speak, be 'leaning in' to the colour scheme. I'm thinking as yellow is the accent colour I will go for something like this as the tape https://www.fizik.com/uk_en/vento-microtex-tacky-bi-color-fluo.html
Hopefully some suitably lurid compressionless cables can also be procured!
The mudguard mounts didn't come with the bike but still look pretty readily available for about £20 so I'll pick up a set of those too.
