I have to agree, being used to riding track and 'shifting' through upping the cadence, the sti/ergo has made road cyclists into mtb'ers. I used to ride with a bloke (og mtb'er) who was CONSTANTLY shifting his 1st gen sram rival. Was quite annoying imo, but fits Kimmo's link to mtb regarding shifting :))
All in all, I like dt shifters, especially indexed. Who does bunch sprints anyway.
Plenty of us ride along the side of the road on our way somewhere, and having the shifters finally complete their decades-long journey to where they belong means that now we have half a chance to catch the draft of passing trucks.
