The older model had a slit and internal M6 binder. It worked great and no problem using it on a carbon steerer. The updated model uses a two piece wedge much like a Thomson Elite or even earlier Deda/Tioga/Kalloy models. That one is much more prone to slipping and wreaks havoc on carbon steerers.
Quite sad they changed the design. Not too many modern hidden/internal clamp stems on the market. All of this as I simply dislike binders and stem bolts that are on the rear of the stem. Bring back quill stems. And external housing. And square taper cranks.
