Painting would have been the favoured choice if it was all the same but with that end section where there's no concrete at the bottom and it's not as tall I think it would look a bit weird.
Current thinking is to attach some vertical battens to the concrete base and the horizontal poles and use those to attach either slatted fence panels or put slats on myself but need to do a bit more research.
