I recently switched to DT shifters. I started road cycling with STIs and after some years mostly rode fixed. In the cold my 7800 STIs stopped shifting down probaply due to cold temperatures and I looked for a road frame to convert to DT shifters. Being used to from riding a fixie and streching a gear of a big cadence range I was really happy with the DT shifters. I hopped on and my first ride was a 2 weeks, 1000km ride across Japan and I don´t remember any moment where I missed STIs. But I imagine thats also because I am not racing.
