On the r7000 front mech I have the cable tension adjuster seems to (kind of) work for adding tension but if I back it off it just undoes the bolt and the actual bit with the cable attached stays where it is, I have to unclamp the cable to get it all to return to the ‘starting’ position.
Is this normal behaviour? Should I use a barrel adjuster to adjust cable tension rather than that bit on the derailleur?
Give it a little shift up and down to check it's where you want, a barrel adjuster can give you a bit more range, but if you start right at the beginning of the instructions each time, you shouldn't need it assuming you've "stretched" the cable to settle in the outers and ferrules.
