  • I agree it is a bit silly. AUK accepts that riding a foreign BRM is fine for AUK recognition (quite correctly). There are non-BRM brevets (same as AUK’s BRs) organised by foreign ACP-affiliated groups (RUSA, Audax Oz). Quite a few years ago, AUK recognised those rides for RRtY. Now they don’t. The brevets are the same, the ride rules are the same, the recognition is not.

  • It's this kind of thing that stops me bothering with the Brevet 25000 etc awards. I can't be bothered with all the rules and admin.

    I see an event that looks neat, I ride it, if it gets points and stuff, cool, if not, oh well.

    But if I was doing another AAA year or competing in something else points related and someone got points in an event where I didn't, then I'd be pretty pissed off.
