Having been idly scanning through the eBay finds thread, I was alerted by @fredtc posting of one of the very silly 1st gen Trek Domane RSL bikes. Even better, it was in my size and shod in the sort of colour scheme that would have most right-thinking people clawing their eyeballs out.
Finding out that no one else had placed a bid as the minutes ticked down, I took a chance and got the whole thing for the £1k starting bid. A trip to Kidbrooke and back later and it was all mine.
First job was to whack a saddle on and take the obligatory 'before' shot on the scales:
7.55kg is hardly a fatty, however I'll be putting it on a bit of a diet and getting the build up to a standard that does the frame justice.
To that end I'll stick some posts up on the Classifieds for the Wheels (Giant SLR-1 40/60mm) and Groupset (Ultegra R8000 Shifters/Mechs with R6800 Crank and cassette, Bontrager Speed Stop Direct Mount brakes), when I've stripped them off and photographed them, but if anyone is interested let me know.
Just waiting for a few more bits to pop through the letterbox then I shall update with progress...
