  • Have you thought about buying a second hand, older reader? I still use my Kindle Voyage from 2014-15. Buy a book, sends to device, no ads. I'm not sure I need another Kindle, although I like the idea of a scribe (or remarkable).

  • It was literally a "I wonder what a Kindle costs now" thought yesterday while I was looking for Dremel tools to cut some (brand new) cupboard away for the stupid new smart meter they're forcing us to install and I needed something to boost for free postage (I normally add books I want).

I've not seriously considered one yet but I did think that for longer trips, train trips or maybe bike tours it'd be a lighter, more compact way to carry more reading material. Although realistically I already have my phone so why wouldn't I just use that, but now it looks like I need to move away from Kindle because the app is broken.

Second hand is an option I guess but I presume new tech is better.

  • Get the new one with the longest battery life; really is a game changer (USB-C charging is nice).

I’ve been reading a book for several months and it show 36% left with backlight
