J Mascis is a knob, I DJ'd at the Asheton, Asheton, Mascis, Watt gig in London, you couldn't hear anyone but him, three Marshall full stacks IIRC. Ruined the whole night for all us Stooges tragics in attendance, but maybe that was the point.

J had himself surrounded and pretty much enclosed on 3 sides by those massive stacks. Whoever's asking for earplug advice needs to ask him. Probably needs to shout too.

Oh yeah, I read Our Band Could Be Your Life last year and all of Dinosaur Jr sound like dicks, to be fair quite a few of the bands in that sound like they were dicks and easily still could be. Lou seems to have accepted he was a prick and regrets it now at least if the stuff he posts on Instagram and in some of the interviews I've seen are anything to go by.

First time I saw Sunn0))) I opted to not put my earplugs in for the opening and it was quite something. Earth we’re also loud but not as much, I blame the venue eArtH for that though. GY!BE were quite loud but Lightning Bolt at Underworld and Mogwai at The Garage were probably the loudest, took out my earplugs for the last song at Mogwai and wasn’t sure how people were able to deal with it for the whole gig. Annoyed I didn’t bother to get tickets for Dinosaur Jr at the Garage as imagine that will have been next level loud.
