  • Cheers all. @dbr yes I've been playing with it a bit, I'm sure it makes sense once you start to use it but it feels quite odd handing things over to ai (to a certain extent) though this makes me sound more of a luddite than I probably am. Cheers @skinny, appreciate that too - so far my approach has been pretty unstructured - I live in Cornwall and probably 70% of my riding is outside; it's suh a mix of different short spikey gradients here that I think it's a pretty good place to build decent endurance and strength even if you're not trying to! I'm making use of the free month trial to see what I make of it more than anything else - too much reliance on these sort of interfaces can soon begin to feel like it takes the fun away from cycling and as I'm not racing in any meaningful way at the moment the main priority is enjoying riding the bike. @andyp improved endurance I guess and sustained power. I've started adding a bit more purposeful strength and conditioning in as well but this is for a host of reasons including avoiding injury, and yeah as @TTM says tipping over 5 would be nice too. Especially as I turn 40 pretty imminently.

edit. @onyerbike a break? What's that?! But yeah consistent miles across winter, i'm pretty consistent in general, always stay within pretty similar hours/elevation/distance every week/month

  • Bloody hell. Nice numbers. I reached the conclusion getting to 4w/kg was fairly easy for most but 5w/kg takes some serious dedication.

Cornwall riding is tough! I live in the Peak District and found it hard going down there when we had a week in Looe a few years back. Wind from every direction and constant bergs. Makes a man of you!
