  • I’m surprised the film/digital photography threads aren’t looking a bit more sparse either, I wouldn’t want my creative content being free for anyone to use as they see fit and that being enabled by the T&C’s.
    Most people probably aren’t that bothered but there are pics of kids/families etc plus news worthy stuff like demonstrations etc.

  • Anything that's already in the Internet Archive (and there's a lot less from here archived there than people seem to think) is going to stay there no matter what people do with their account in the coming weeks; that's explicitly its purpose. If the forum survives in some form that would be a different matter, but deleting your account now would give you less chance of having any control over that, not more.

    Generally true. There's even a Web archive (several, in fact) of my posts on rec.bicycles.tech from nearly a quarter of a century ago. Once you place something on a server to which at least one other person has access, you've given up control.
