Trump, Johnson and Farage all leveraged playing the media buffoon to gain power. Mogg is mainly known because of his Beano toff routine and this will be a way to try and keep himself in the public eye in the hope of a political comeback.
Like the other three, he also needs constant attention. People knowing he employs a human Bentley Buffer will give him much more pleasure than the shine of his Bentley.

Also, he may simply be trying to take a leaf out of the book of other non-politicians that for some reason are trusted because they've been on TV, no matter how rubbish they were. We'll see it if he gets elected again.
