• Anyone with a tired Vaillant boiler I can recommend getting on their maintenance/service contract at about £30 month. We inherited a neglected 10 year old boiler that had a tide mark inside from a major undetected leak that fried the main board.
Plumber/engineer suggested trying to get Vaillant to take it on as him doing one repair for a diverter valve would cost as much as a years contract.
So now we have almost a new boiler, last outage meant 11 parts changed which were likely at the limit for what they will replace before condemning the boiler. If this happens they give you £700 off fitting a new one, we were nice to the engineer and explained we just needed to get another year out of it so he was determined to fix it.
The annual service was 2 weeks later and I noticed the pressure had crept up, turns out it needed a new pressure vessel along with a few valves.
With the new pump and all the other bits done previously there’s probably only the heat exchanger that’s original.
Don’t think they have made any money on this one.
