The flat seat arrangement in an XC90 (and other SUVs) is not kid seat friendly if you're using one of the bases with a leg. Front passenger seat has to be moved pretty far forward as to not touch the kid seat and set off the really annoying alarm. Beep...Beep...Beep.
Larger estates / saloons with their slightly reclined seat bases do a much better job with kid seats.
So the choice is really your back (SUV) or your knees (Car). Choose wisely.
