Indeed. Cleaning is more of a nuisance as you gotta shove like a wipe in the gap between the caliper and flap. It's also the main reason I decided to sell the Hope RX4 calipers - body too wide to fit with the flap in the way. I've not really had problems with pad removal (easily accessible), having to realign for rub, or anything similar.

The biggest problem can be that it is impossible to get a facing tool to the flat mount. Obviously no issue if there is good QC from the factory..
