Parting ways with faithful commuter. I should convert this to flat bar to help with the fit issues I've always ignored (long legs short arms but too lazy to switch to a short stem) but work have finally moved office to one with lockers and showers so the need for a sensible bike with a rack are diminishing.
I bought the frame off eBay a number of years ago, it was a custom paintjob (the Reynolds sticker joke was not mine!) and I built it up with a set of wheels off here and basic finishing kit. The horrible Fizik pink bar tape has held up suprisingly well. With wide tyres and guards it's a really smooth ride and requires very little maintenance other than pads and replacing the chain every few years. I had previously run with both front and rear racks but settled with just the BLB on the front. Never used the dynamo in the end, was assured the SP hub worked when I bought but haven't the means to test I'm afraid. Since photos have sorted the rear mudguard with an actual SKS clip. Horribly bungy cords will be removed...
Parts
Frameset: Genesis Day One, either 2013 or 15/16, can't tell
Wheels: Surly rear SP front to Alex rims
Tyres: Panaracer 650b slicks 38c
Brakes: Tektro Spyre cable discs
Shifters: RRL's
Finishing: Genesis/Condor/Selcof
there's some paint rub on the fork on one side from doing tracklcross in Epping during lockdown when I stupidly took the mudguards off. Can't see it with the guards on but it wasn't deep.
there are some nicks in the tyres, everything has sealed fine but they aren't in pristine condition
am selling as seen but will keep the pedals.
All in a really bombproof setup that has got me in and out of town 2-3 times a week with very little complaint. Looking for £300 collected in E17 but can meet central if that helps. No posting sorry.
