• Not sure about the bonds permanently bit as they are easy to pull out.

The advantage IMO is there’s no chance of the plug coming out with the tool. The barbed tip ensures it stays in first time, which is convenient.

I think the issue with bacon strips is that the thin ones are often too thin and the thick ones are extreme. Standard dynaplug is a very good diameter for the average puncture that doesn’t seal.

  • no chance of the plug coming out with the tool

Never happened, must have been doing it wrong.

Also never had issues with size of the strips, but there have been instances where I needed to jam 2 in the same hole, which I would struggle to see possible with 2 dynaplug heads getting into each other's way - likely not impossible.

  • Clearly not doing it right! The things are meant to stay in, I presume.

I have ultimately reverted to bacon over dyna.

  • My road bike currently has 2 x dynaplugs in one split. Easy to see where to stick the second one as it’s the bit that’s still bubbling.

I always have bacon strips on me as well (there’s a little slot for them in the fancy wolftooth tool) but yet to be failed by dynaplugs so haven’t tried them
