  • You don't think that a generation that grew up pre-Internet/house purchases for buttons/ability to actually live on benefits/semi-secure employment etc don't think and behave a certain way? OK

  • Not completely no. They don't all vote the same way, there are majorities for sure, but not completely the same no.

    How is it any different from saying all people of the same colour or religion think the same?

  • Group think in groups.

  • You're possibly arguing a different point.

    It's not to say that all groups think identically about everything. But you have a trend and on certain things there will be consistency.

    A modern European Christian will have a certain world view and morality structure that they share with others and will differ to an Ottoman Muslim or Confusion Chinese.

    The generations also don't necessarily cut along hard fault lines. My dad is a boomer, but has always very much self-identified with The Silent Generation. Likewise I have a strong affinity with the Gen X ennuyeux, edge-lording, and substance abuse, but without the benefit of buying a flat in Hackney with a 100% mortgage.
