I have a tattoo appointment booked with Pete Corrie tomorrow (been booked for ages) and my gf just told me she arranged a snorkelling trip this the weekend for my birthday (bed and breakfast can't change dates). It's this massive deep lake/river system 2hr north of Berlin and I am big snorkelling fan (not a euph).
I've swum many times in seas/rivers/lakes with open wounds and never had a problem. Usually the sea because it's so easy to get cut. When I was younger I also swam in the sea with a fresh tattoo as I didn't know any better.
I'm not going to cancel on Pete and I would be liar if I said I wasn't going to go swimming. What's the best way to protect the fresh tattoo. Saniderm? Elastoplast spray on plaster? Just clean it real good after swimming?
I know this is a dumb question because it's really advised against. I just wondered if anyone had a good tip about protecting it. Or am I overthinking the whole thing?
