I can confirm that nitromoros + a pressure washer will not totally get rid of ingrained colour from stone.
So def seek out a specialist product.

I'll be painting the stone again after - just need to get rid of the flaked and cracked rubbish first.

Someone posted a while back about using paint stripper on stone / brick mullion on their bay windows / fills - does anyone recall who / where / when?
I seem to remember them covering the thinner with something, but don't recall what.
