I think it might be one of the only bits of bike fettling that a gif can do justice. Bubbly stuff.

Hmmm, can't remember if i'm honest. Perhaps some tape and then supported by an old rag stuffed in the BB shell. Do remember that i was worried it would all just leak out, but in the end whatever I did was fine.
