Recently I've been buying Shimano chains again because the KMCs became more expensive. The last two were ebike chains and annoyingly didn't come with quick links (you can buy them separate but it's annoying so beware)

Yeah I don't think (m)any Shimano chains come with quick links, so I've mainly stayed away from them in the past.

They never used to and then they did and then they didn't. Thinking about it, maybe it's only the 12S that came with quicklinks and it was SRAM 11s chains that were cheaper for a while? I can't remember. Too many bikes, too many chains.
